The fairy-godmother explains that she desires to make them happy, but Shrek rudely dismisses her and orders Fiona to pack her bags. Fiona accuses Shrek of not making an attempt to get along with her father and Shrek says that whether or not her dad and mom like it, he's an ogre and that will not change.
